This is 1364, a new shopping center on the Diplomatic Quarter in Riyadh, where we lived for three years, from 2013 to 2016. There was nothing even remotely like this during our time there, and now there’s also a supermarket, hotels and restaurants, a liquor store for diplomats, coffee shops where men and women can sit together, and much more. I don’t think I’d recognize the place if I were to go back there now.
