Kenreimon Gate, Kyoto

The main entrance gate to the Kyoto Imperial Palace is the Kenreimon Gate, located on the western side of the main courtyard. This gate, used for official ceremonies and meetings with dignitaries, is a cypress-wood structure supported by four unpainted pillars.
