Kiyomizu pagoda, Kyoto

The three-story pagoda at Kiyomizu-dera is one of the tallest of its kind in Japan, standing at 31 meters high. The current structure dates from a reconstruction carried out in 1633, when its original red coloring was also restored.

Kiyomizu-dera ('Pure Water Monastery') is a Buddhist temple located in eastern Kyoto. The temple is part of the Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Excellent point of view must be something to watch this when it was under construction.
