‘Do I really have to wear this thing??’

We spent five hours on Sunday at the Friendship animal emergency care center because Queenie had managed to yank an enormous bunch of fur out of her leg, leaving a big red patch of skin, which she kept frantically scratching. They shaved the fur around the wound and cleaned it and also found another similar area where her tail meets her rear end. We have a lot of pills to give her every day, plus she has to wear a cone on her head, which she absolutely hates.

Oh, poor Queenie. I wonder if she had 'hot spots'? It sounds very unpleasant for her, and then the added indignity of the cone!! She is giving you that eloquent look asking why she has to wear that thing! I hope she gets better ASAP. V

Nice photo she does not look to happy extra treats and attention might help her some.

A halo for the queen, who at this moment might rather not be queen.

She hates the cone but she still looks very tame and calm. A nice dog ! ~V~

She must be frustrated by the cone, but it's all for the best, Helen. You obviously love your dog very much.

Ah, the indignity. We know that look: https://pbase.com/britestar/image/23853770 And others.... Looks like Queenie's cone could knock things off the furniture. It's huge. Do you have to hand feed her?

Difficult moments for her but her look asks you with confidence...V.
jtocaciu17-Mar-2025 16:50
Thanks for sharing. It is not as she is indulging excessively in having some treats.
You have big experience with dogs, but a cause has to be. Quick recovery for poor darling. V.

It's very unpleasant for Queenie, and for other animals in general. But it's for her own good.
