Stratovolcano, Hokkaido

I'm not sure which volcano this actually is -- either Mount Yōtei or Mount Usu, both located in Shikotsu-Tōya National Park on the island of Hokkaido. The note on my film photograph says it's Mount Usu, but it sure doesn't look like any modern-day pictures of it online.

Mount Usu looks very much like the stratovolcanos of the Pacific Northwest. Beautiful scenic vista.

Fascinating shot. The volcano does look active and like it could erupt again at any time. That must be very fertile farmland.
