Flight deck, USS Independence

During our year in Yokohoma, we visited Yokosuka Naval Base and were treated to a cruise on the USS Independence, the last conventionally powered aircraft carrier in the US fleet. It was decommissioned in 1998 and finally dismantled in 2017. It was a thrill to watch the planes taking off and landing right in front of our eyes!
