Nature’s artistry, Petra

Another tomb in the ancient city of Petra, the capital of the Nabataean Kingdom (1st century A.D.). We had visited the kingdom’s southernmost and second largest city, Mada'in Saleh http://pbase.com/helenpb/riyadh_madain_saleh while we were living in Saudi Arabia. The two archaeological sites were equally impressive.

The Treasury, Petra, posted earlier:

Unfinished, or deteriorated? Still something to see.

Another ancient and historical structure/monumet carved from the rock, you got a good shot of it showing some of its main elements in relief, the textures and colors on the rock face are impressive. V
