Steam rising

Tahiti is beautiful, but also very humid. My note on the picture says I had to keep wiping off the camera lens, then my glasses, then the lens again when we were outside. Having grown up in San Francisco, this was my first experience with real humidity, or actually any humidity at all.

*****

In 1987 we stopped in Tahiti on our way home after our two-year posting to Canberra. Needless to say, it was quite a change from Australia and a pleasant interlude before facing life in Washington, DC.

Hmm, that humidity would be a challenge for a photographer.

Looks steamy. I do not like humidity at that level for very long.

Humidity and vapors, we can see all this here, and even feel it...V.

Captured well. The extreme humidity was why I didn't enjoy the unairconditioned, more natural, honeymoon bungalows on Moorea and greatly preferred the Westernized, airconditioned, Intercontinental (where you also stayed) on the main island. I HATE high humidity. However, the mist in the air does make for nice photos. I remember this view well. Thanks for sharing.

The humidity gave this image a lovely painterly effect. I'm not a big humidity fan either. Colorado is definitely not humid. ~BV~
