A DC landmark model that isn’t new this year but I hadn’t seen before. The Summerhouse, situated on the US Capitol grounds, has offered rest and shelter to travelers for over a century. This model was constructed entirely from plant parts, although the real one, of course, was not. We had visited it years ago, but I can’t find my pictures of it.

After spending some time at the pollinators and model train display, we went to the conservatory at the U.S. Botanic Garden to see their indoor “Seasons Greenings” holiday exhibit where they feature models of DC landmarks made entirely of plant parts and a huge collection of poinsettias. I didn’t photograph all the landmarks again, just the new ones; the others appear at the very beginning and towards the end of this gallery http://pbase.com/helenpb/america_return_washington_2_botanic
