Alan Bond’s new yacht at the 1987 America’s Cup

Alan Bond was an English-born Australian businessman noted for his high-profile and often corrupt business dealings. Among other things, he is remembered for bankrolling the successful challenge for the 1983 America's Cup, the first time the New York Yacht Club had lost it in its 132-year history. He died in 2015.

We didn’t watch the races from a boat like his.

In-between bankrolling the challenge and dying, Alan Bond spent quite some time in jail!

and he conveniently lost his memory before facing court.... 😡

"Often corrupt ..." No surprise there. Corruption seems to go hand-in-hand with great wealth. Nice shot of this excess.

good catch tying it in to the sleek sailboat...Bond's yacht does look like a floating mansion..
