After coming across a long-lost Turkish colleague now living in Australia, I decided to take a look at my pictures from the years we lived in Canberra -- 1985-87 -- our first overseas posting with the State Department. We enjoyed our time there, both living in the capital city, where I did a BA at the Australian National University and also worked for a local vet, and traveling around the country.

This may be a painfully slow gallery to put together because I have to scan the pictures, which are in groups of three and can't be removed from the backing, meaning it takes forever to scan three images at a time and then break them up in PS. In any case, I'll see how it works out and hope I can give a snapshot of this wonderful country as it was almost 40 years ago. The image quality won't be great, but at least the processing was better in Australia than it was in late '90s Turkey, the pictures from which I included in a recently finished retrospective gallery.
