The dogwoods have started to bloom

Capitol Hill is ablaze with pink and white dogwoods just starting to bloom, a bit early compared to some years. This particular tree was at peak, explaining the deeper color than seen on most trees on Sunday.

Oh, how I adore dogwoods. I have wonderful memories of them in Washington DC where I first saw them in full bloom. I even planted one back here in my Aus garden when I got home! They are beautiful. A very pretty image, Helen. V
