The whole picture

A view of all three Transformers installed at the house of a neuroscientist in DC’s historic and very upscale Georgetown neighborhood. The long story surrounding the Transformers accompanies the previous/below picture.

While I think the homeowner should be able to decorate his house however he wants, I’m not sure I’d like these gigantic sculptures on my street. The situation reminds me of the skeletons that my next-door neighbor insists on displaying in his front yard.

Awesome composition, Helen! V

Very different decor in front of someone's home; no matter how rich you are. But interesting story. How about he gets rid of the two at street level (drawing in lookie-loos and blocking part of the sidewalk) and just keeps the one on his roof?

That's a nice view to see the one that is on the top of the house as well. That one's pretty cool.

They definitely are eye-catching, and I've seen some much worse displays from neighbors.

Those are wild. I bet those were expensive. I would love to know the story about that. V

Now that I see the whole thing together, I’m definitely with the doctor. I can well imagine Washington and the rest of us can use a bit of whiskey and humor these days. Great photo that tells a great story. BV

They are eye-catching and formidable, but... have to say, I am glad they're not on my street!!. V

Oh my! One on the roof too! I don't think I would want to put something in front of my house that would encourage pedestrians to linger!

This is really cool! And a great find. V

Not something I would expect to see in Georgetown! V

Ok maybe the two on the street are a little much, but I love the one on the roof.

Magnificent documentary photography. But... when I doubt a lot, better than not. The neuroscientist will understand. V

Those are amazing, Helen. Great capture.

Nice you have the three of them and the building in the picture for scaling. V

I agree ! Not a problem in front of a store in a commercial street but disturbing in residential zone.

I'm of two minds about them. The amount of money spent making them and then defending their existence is troubling.
