Another fearless mourning dove

This mourning dove was sitting on our railing when I went out to get something in our garden. I opened the door and he didn’t move; I started to walk towards him and the stairs, and he still stayed in place, even when I was a couple of feet from him. He finally left when I was inches away and starting down the stairs. These have to be the calmest and most fearless birds around here!

Spring has really sprung! posted earlier:

This is so neat, they aren't that way around my house.

He/she looks like they have claimed your railing for their own. They must sense they can trust you. V

First, the heron. Now, this morning dove. You seem to have a way with birds for them to allow you to get so close. Both are extremely skittish for me here.

So interesting that you could get that close!

Obviously very use to people- not sure that is a good thing for them in the long run.

They are so tame there. Ours are super skittish. Nice capture.
