We saw this mockingbird in the area next to the US Capitol that was filled with blooming cherry trees.
We enjoyed DC’s famous cherry blossoms at a local park and an area near the Capitol instead of hassling with the crowds and vehicle congestion at the Tidal Basin. In addition to cars being abandoned in the middle of the street by people who wanted to take pictures of the iconic cherry blossoms, making the bumper to bumper traffic even worse, local news reports said that tens of thousands of people visited the Tidal Basin on Sunday. I think we made the right decision to avoid all that.
