Humayun’s tomb, New Delhi

Precursor to the Taj Mahal, the mausoleum of Mughal Emperor Humayun (A.D. 1508-1556) was commissioned by his first wife, Empress Bega Begum, in 1558.

I know the light on the tomb is problematic, and I can’t fix it, but I thought Tim’s framing was perfect.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by PBase are decidedly unsharp.

the tomb looks great in sunshine, perhaps illustrating the love of the widowed wife...the line of visitors streams well through the frame, adding a sense of depth..
