Istiqlal Mosque, Jakarta

A final view of Jakarta, the sprawling capital of Indonesia with a population of close to 11 million. The white building is Istiqlal Mosque, the largest mosque in Southeast Asia and the sixth largest in the world in terms of worshipper capacity. Tim said the weather there was terrible (like monsoon season or something), and I think he was happy to leave.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by PBase are decidedly unsharp.

I spent two days in Jakarta and, with the pollution, the warm temperatures, the humidity and the streets hassles I was happy to leave for more pleasant places in Java. The image resume perfectly the mood of the city.

Looks like poor air quality but like Julie said, I too love seeing places I'll never see in person. Bravo to Tim!

I love seeing all these different places . The mosque stands out from the rest of the buildings. V
