Big production

I’ve never really watched a tree being taken down, so I kept running to the window in Tim’s office to see how they were doing it. We thought they’d take the entire tree out, but in the end they stopped when they got to the large limb that extends to the left over the neighbor’s yard. No idea why.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by PBase are decidedly
unsharp.

That 'perch' looks precarious to work from. I've watched them climb with ropes here, though not quite so high.

Wonder why they reduced its height. It already seems well pruned. Great doc shot!
Nirvan Hope09-Feb-2022 04:48
Fascinating! Probably more interesting to watch than a Netflix show!
Dennis Hoyne09-Feb-2022 02:38
A tough job, not much room for error.
Julie Oldfield09-Feb-2022 01:24
Really interesting to see. Maybe they were trying to cut the dead parts away. V
Mairéad08-Feb-2022 21:53
Great reportage. Maybe the neighbour had complained.
Isabel Cutler08-Feb-2022 21:36
Bill was curious about the round building at the back. Do you know what it is?
Marcia Rules08-Feb-2022 20:27
Very informative image. It is quite a cool shot! VV

Very interesting. These guys look like they know what they are doing.
janescottcumming08-Feb-2022 18:16
That looks like it would be scary work! V
Tom Munson08-Feb-2022 17:43
Nice shot, they have the machine for this kind of precision work.
Kevin D Warren08-Feb-2022 16:19
Great shot of this precision work. Highly skilled - and insured - workers. I admire their skill.
Hank Vander Velde08-Feb-2022 14:49
Super shot to catch that big branch being lowered too Helen. Does seem rather odd that they stopped at that branch. Perhaps the vines will cover that branch and make for a nice bird perch or nesting place.

real pro at work, great picture!
pkocinski08-Feb-2022 13:19
Tight working quarters for them and they sure know what they're doing.

They look like professional tree surgeons, Helen.V
Philip P08-Feb-2022 10:16
With the right tools its very safe, even in such a confined area!

An interesting scene.

It's impressive. The crane must be well anchored to the ground.
Arnie Peterschmidt08-Feb-2022 05:57
Must have been a noisy day in the neighborhood with the chipper running. Maybe they'll come back for the rest of the tree.

I have never seen them inaction...V.
