DC’s attempt to beautify an overpass

Taken on New York Avenue NE above Eckington, where I photograph a lot of murals. I guess the decoration on the overpass is appropriate given how artistic a neighborhood Eckington has become.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by PBase are decidedly
unsharp.

I like the sculptures, but not sure about the placement. LOL at Don and agree with Carl. We need to do more about the night lights affecting the bird migration. V

I quite like them and think that more would create a very cool driving experience - unless your a salmon, as Don has aptly pointed out.

They somehow remind me of grizzly bears on the side of the river picking off salmon that are trying to swim upstream. I don't think it is safe to drive on that overpass.

The sculptures are fascinating. Wonder how many drivers are looking at them instead of the road. Love how the crane in the background adds to the sculpture effect.

I like it. Nice capture. I wish they would replace those street lights though, with more efficient LEDs, and if they are LEDs, they should shine down, not out. We need to get out night skies back.
