Farmer or distiller?

I’ve always thought this restaurant had an interesting name, and because it’s near Chinatown, it’s in Chinese as well. The sign over the doorway says, “Proudly owned by the North Dakota Farmers Union.”

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by PBase are decidedly
unsharp.
