One-legged grasshopper

This poor grasshopper appears to have lost a leg, pointed out to us by a little boy walking by.

Taken in dreadful weather at Piscataway National Park on the Maryland side of the Potomac River.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by PBase are decidedly
unsharp.

GBH fix, posted earlier:

I've seen lots of one-legged hoppers. Must be an occupational hazard.

Great detail in this photo - too bad it's met with some misfortune.

As long as it still has one back leg it 'll be able to chirp for a mate!
