A distillery in DC? What next?

Thrasher's Rum is produced in the urban, waterfront Potomac Distilling Company and served at the Tiki TNT bar, situated along DC’s District Wharf.

I knew we had a winery here, and I’m sure there are some breweries, but this was the first I had heard about a distillery.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly
unsharp.

That's a tall barrel of rum.

What Marcia said! I'm not much for drinking rum, but do find it particularly good in cake!

Nice POV to capture the towering chimney. We have a whiskey distillery here that was making sanitizer during the beginning of the pandemic. V

It must have been quite the project to paint that name on that tall chimney.

Love the tall view. Looks like a tasting patio there to boot.

A great way to use the tall chimney. V

Interesting industrial activity in the city, well signed Helen.

The rejuvenation of water fronts in large cities is a plus. Like the way the old stack was turned into their sign.

Did you stop in? Gotta support the locals!

Washington, DC is a happening place! Their sign is pretty cool. V

We have a "ton" of local distilleries and craft breweries in my area. In the early stages of the pandemic when hand sanitizer got scarce, one local distiller, Black Button Distilling , made it at their distillery.

Interesting find. I guess a distillery that makes rum must be using sugarcane as the source of the alcohol.

It’s interesting sometimes to learn what companies are in ones neighborhood...
Fine composition. V

every town have their own secret, great find and shot!

We've got quite a few craft distilleries too. I think they are limited to batch size and can only sell and serve at the one location. Your rules may be different. I like the big old incinerator smokestack. V

I think they've been doing very well recently!

With its brand name on the chimney you can't miss it. V!
