Expecting visitors at Lincoln Park

There were reports today that a lot of National Guardsmen had gathered in Lincoln Park, close to our house, and now porta potties are being installed there, I imagine to give weary soldiers a place to rest.

We went down to the US Capitol, or at least as close as we could get, to see what things looked like. I'd have to say it was an almost surreal way to spend a Sunday afternoon -- photographing the many Capitol Police, National Guardsmen, Metropolitan Police, military trucks, police cruiser roadblocks and high fences that now populate our beautiful city. I'm hoping that we can all come together as a country and put a quick end to this kind of thing because this is no way to live.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly
unsharp.

How bizarre. The scene is reminiscent of setting up for a festival in the park. But the next few days will be anything but... I've seen comments from your mayor that that if the anarchists can't get to their desired targets, they might hit "soft targets" like the residential areas on Capitol Hill instead. Please be very careful.

If the guardsman must rest outdoors, the porta potties are necessary.
