‘Great Wave of Georgetown’

This mural, located on the side of a house in the historic Georgetown neighborhood, was painted by J. McConnell in 1989 and inspired by "The Great Wave of Kanagawa" by Hokusai.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly
unsharp.

Hokusai's Great Wave must be one of the most well-known of all his work, and rightly so; this mural does an artful job of capturing the flavour of the original. Very nicely composed shot on your part, and great shot. V

inspired by Hokusai indeed, it is almost an exact coopy with a couple of slight modifications...still. why not pay homage to a master..
