Sign of the times

Posted in our local park; I was wondering when the National Park Service was going to get around to that. The DC police have also finally stopped people from visiting the cherry blossoms on the Tidal Basin. I haven’t seen a single person on the Trust for the National Mall’s bloom cam since Monday. They really should have done that last Friday before hordes of admirers descended on the famous site.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly unsharp.

Begging for a picture, posted earlier:

Apple iPhone X
1/4s f/1.8 at 4.0mm iso200 full exif

other sizes: small medium large original auto

Awww...poor kids and parents. Better to be safe though.

...And it should be close for several weeks, unfortunately... The springtime is here but we only can see small traces of it...

Sad but necessary for now.

The best of times - springtime. The worst of times - so many places one can't go to enjoy it!

Sad to see this happening all over

This is the saddest sign. Hard to explain to children.

So very sad. I can’t wait until this ends.

For sure, all our state parks are closed.

playgrounds closed up here too, and most small businesses, including shops...there is some optimism though in the distant sunlight..

Sadly, yes.

Another sad sign of our times now.
