Lake Anna is long and narrow and has numerous fingers reaching into the countryside. The shoreline opposite the state park is full of houses and apparently has no public access, but these smaller areas are open to everybody.
Best to view in "Original" or “Auto” because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly unsharp.
*****
We drove down to Lake Anna, only 72 miles from Washington (although it took two-and-a-half hours to get there). It’s one of the largest freshwater inland reservoirs in the state of Virginia and is 17 miles long, with 200 miles of shoreline. We only visited the state park (which was packed with families who were swimming, picnicking, boating and fishing), but there are a lot of luxury homes built along the lake as well as a nuclear power plant.
