This is a series of photographs I bought on Sunday displaying a cherry tree on the Tidal Basin during all four seasons of the year. I really admired the creativity and perseverance of photographer, who told me it used to be the most beautiful tree on the basin but that the Park Service had cut off the overhanging branches because cyclists kept hitting their heads on them… The figure in red with an umbrella is his sister.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly unsharp.

illuminating...a delight to see the progression through seasons too... too bad if the lower branch has now been cut off...better that cyclists pay attention rather than demanding alterations to the landscape...
