Monument to the patriots who fell

An 1865 monument behind Henry House erected by Union soldiers in “Memory of the Patriots who fell at Bull Run.” A total of 460 young Union recruits died at Bull Run that July day in 1861. The Confederates suffered 387 fatalities.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly unsharp.

I just saw the lyrics to that old song from decades past: "War, what is it good for? Absolutely nothing." Superb shot and good POV. V

A monument for fallen soldiers is always sad in my opinion. In a war there are only losers, especially the simple soldiers! So war where is it good for (only for the weapon industry?) V
