The heron wasn’t moving from his spot on the island, but he sure did give me a lot of interesting poses and feather-dos.
Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly unsharp.

We stopped by the lake on the National Mall again to see if the heron had flown south. Much to our surprise, he was still there, along with quite a few cormorants, despite the bitterly cold weather we’ve had over the past week, although it was almost 70 degrees on that particular day (!).
