We never even knew this tidal marsh existed at the aquatic gardens until we saw a sign for a boardwalk and decided to follow it. What a pleasant surprise!
Tim keeps talking about going back so he can have another shot at photographing the herons that live around there.
*****
We went back to the 700-acre Kenilworth Park and Aquatic Gardens in Washington, D.C., to see the lotuses and water lilies in advance of their annual festival last weekend, mainly to avoid the horrendous parking problems during the event.
It’s an amazing area within the D.C. city limits and only a 12-minute drive from our house. We need to go there more often!
