The vulture has landed

Taken at Great Falls Park in Virginia, after we had watched the Potomac River flooding due to six days of nonstop rain (see picture below).

There were vultures everywhere; in this case they were sharing the area with geese. I believe I was trying to focus on the bird on the bench when this one swooped in. I’m surprised it turned out at all due to the excessively high ISO for this camera and my relative lack of preparedness, but am glad I managed to get something!

Well, I think you got a great interaction shot here Helen with one vulture swooping in on the food-source, I presume, whilst the other one on the bench and the lowly crow are looking on with envy.
