The dogwoods are just starting to bloom on Capitol Hill, which I love to see but which also makes me sad because we had to have our 25-year-old dogwood removed when we got back from Saudi Arabia due to a fatal disease. It was pink, like this one…

It was funny when I was trying to take this -- one of my neighbors said this tree was just starting to bloom and why didn't I go across the street to a much fuller dogwood. I said I would but wanted to get this shot because of the light. Then some man walked by and said, "I see the light you're trying to get. It's just fantastic." I never did go look at the other tree ;-).
