Nest under snow

Today is the first full day of spring, but it appears to not be a very pleasant experience for Liberty and the two eaglets.

The parents, Liberty and Justice, have a nest on the police academy grounds by the Anacostia River, and two eaglets hatched between March 17 and 20.

Liberty and Justice built their nest in 2005 and have raised one or two young every year since. They were named by former Police Chief Cathy Lanier, on the day of the Boston Bombing. She called a press conference at the eagle's nest to name them.

The eagle cam feed can be found at http://www.eaglecam.org

Oh no, this looks pretty dreadful, but these early nesters are quite used to being covered with snow, at least I hope these eagles are. I hope it vanishes quickly.
