Previously Read Drug Store, now a private home

A real estate broker neighbor gave me a letter that included old photographs and information on our immediate neighborhood. It was written by Betty Junge, who was born in 1927 in what is now his house on the 100 block of 10th Street NE.

Mrs. Junge described our neighborhood back in the 1930s and ’40s and said this building was once Read Drug Store and that it had “a pharmacy, soda fountain, magazines and things like that.” Unfortunately she didn't include any old pictures of it.

Another one that is hard to believe it was once a drug store. Makes a nice home though. V

Makes for a stately home - odd that the one side needs a coat of paint ! Nicely photographed ! V

Fascinating information... I love this old building, it is rather stately, and looking at it now, hard to believe it was once a drugstore. Excellent capture of it. V
