This is the actual plaster model for the Statue of Freedom, the crowning feature of the US Capitol dome that was cast in bronze from 1860 to 1862. The model has been moved to various locations over the past 160 years but is now on display in Emancipation Hall, part of the US Capitol Visitor Center. A full view of the statue appears below.
