'Sugarlands Shine'

A package liquor store in Gatlinburg had a big corner of “boutique” moonshine, some of whose labels were pretty creative. Interesting that the store was even there because I had read Sevier was a dry county, but alcohol has been served in at least some restaurants in Pigeon Forge for the past three years, according to the wait staff. Not sure how that works.

I was really fascinated with this stuff as I’ve never seen it for sale before, and I also thought they stopped making it when Prohibition ended. I guess it’s seen a real revival in Tennessee, or maybe it just never died out.

The blackberry stuff looks tasty. The others just seem like they might be rubbing alcohol! ;-)

Looks very authentic in the mason jars. I wonder if they distill it like the real stuff. Great capture. V.

crisply captured, and local treats well distilled...there may be a romantic aspect to moonshine in Mason Jars...fruit flavoured liquor is usually dreadful, although blackberry may prove the exception..
