This nuptial crown was worn by Russian grand duchesses at their weddings. It is embellished with diamonds taken from the Russian crown jewels of the late 1700s and early 1800s and is one of the most historically and symbolically “sacred” objects in the Hillwood collections.
This was not in the jewelry exhibit but in the Russian sacred arts gallery, permanently on display in the mansion.
I don’t recall setting the camera to such a high ISO because of the heavy noise, but it was pretty dark in there so who knows. Not a great capture, but an important piece, so something.
