I actually photographed a bee ;-)

I am really terrified of insects and prefer just to see them in other people’s pictures, but I was trying (unsuccessfully due to the light) to photograph our tiny garden in bloom when I noticed a lot of bees concentrating on one of my azaleas. I finally got up the nerve up to get close enough to take pictures, and amazingly they left me alone. This is greatly cropped, but I wanted to show that I had actually photographed one of them!

Bees are pretty docile as Nora says. or put a longer lens on that D810, and you'd be fine

Very nice close up! I photograph bees very often and get right on top of them with no problem. They are usually pretty docile. V

with this clarity you must have stayed very calm...well done to set aside concerns Helen...bees are valuable allies, and usually not to be feared at all....gorgeous flowers too..
