Well, we went back yet again to the exhibit titled “orchids: A MOMENT” at the Smithsonian’s Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden as I can’t seem to get enough of these beautiful orchids on display. We were talking to a guard who said this has to be one of the greatest collections of orchids we’ll ever see in Washington and that it’s constantly changing because they replace the displays every two days. I think that’s probably staggered since we recognized some orchids from last weekend, but there were new ones, too. I guess this gallery will continue for a while longer ;-).
The variety at this exhibit is simply amazing – in my three visits I’ve seen orchids I was sure I had photographed before but took a picture of them anyway just in case, and when I got home and compared the images, they were similar but definitely different orchids.
