'Dall’s Sheep,' by Jon Timmer

“Dall’s Sheep,” Denali National Park and Preserve, Alaska, USA, by Jon Timmer, Bellingham, Washington, USA. This image was “Highly Honored” in the Wildlife category.

Says Timmer: “Getting up to where the sheep live requires quite a hike, but once you reach them, the reward is well worth it. One day, I spotted a large group of ewes with lambs and decided to photograph their endearing behavior. This shot of a lamb nudging its mother on the head with its hoof is one of my favorites.”

Very cute indeed. Guess I should consider myself lucky that I can walk out the door and see sheep!
