On second thought...

One of the displays on the walkway by the Department of Transportation building pictured below. I’m just posting this because it’s the picture that landed me in trouble with the guard, who said I couldn’t take pictures on federal property. But Raymond had a good point: People take pictures all the time on federal property such as the US Capitol, the National Mall and the Statue of Liberty (as well as in national parks) so why not of a nice walkway next to an office building??

There seems to be more and more things that you cannot photograph these days...

In a public area you can take all the images you want.

I think all the previous comments cover the point.

I think you may have just run into an over zealous guard. Excellent capture! V
carabias06-Sep-2016 10:23
Will they have something to hide? I suppose! V
Martin Lamoon06-Sep-2016 09:06
If you can look at it then you can photograph it
If they don't want photographs then they should hide it all inside a bunker......

I sometimes think it is a response to having a boring job.
joseantonio06-Sep-2016 03:48
that guard maybe was affected by the hot of these days....

Good composition. The DHS bulletin states "“absent reasonable suspicion or probable cause, law enforcement and security personnel [] must allow individuals to photograph the exterior of federally owned or leased facilities from publicly accessible spaces.” The PSO should read the rules if s/he is able to read. ~V~

The guard was over zealous I think. this is a lovely shot. V

a lens on pioneer days seems so patriotic, and here is an example...seems you encountered an over-zealous guard without a grasp of reality...US paranoia is currently over-the-top...

Little man showing off I'd guess
