We attended the Grand Floral Parade, the highlight of the Portland Rose Festival, on Saturday. I haven’t been to a parade in a long time and really just went for something to photograph, but in the end was glad that I did. Living overseas as much as we have, it’s easy to forget what America and its people are all about, but this very multiethnic event was a good reminder.
The streets were lined with locals, many of whom brought their own seating. The woman with the purple blanket brought her knitting.
