A different view

We attended the Grand Floral Parade, the highlight of the Portland Rose Festival, on Saturday. I haven’t been to a parade in a long time and really just went for something to photograph, but in the end was glad that I did. Living overseas as much as we have, it’s easy to forget what America and its people are all about, but this very multiethnic event was a good reminder.

I was fascinated by the two eyes tattooed on the back of this man's head. He was there with his family, including two small dogs, and I hadn't even realized that was some sort of walker until Graeme mentioned it. From his vest, I assume he is a veteran.
