Just to let people know that we all arrived in Washington safely (what an exhausting trip!), although after 24 hours in a kennel, Sahraa is a bit worse for wear. She was almost dying of thirst when we retrieved her at Dulles. I’m sure they at least gave her water in Germany, but it was an eight-hour flight to the US, and she needed more. Poor thing, she then had to scrunch into a tiny space in the SUV Tim rented because we had so much luggage, but he just bought her some dog food and she wolfed it down. She is supposed to come to Portland with us on Wednesday, but I’m really having my doubts now if that’s a good idea. Yet we know she would more hate being in a doggy hotel for three weeks.
I must thank everybody for the many kind comments about my Saudi galleries. I’m so very happy that people have enjoyed them, and am grateful that I could provide some insight as to what this closed country is like. As I said before, my pictures from Riyadh will continue for a while as I simply don’t want to waste them just because I’m no longer there. Plus we have been invited back in two years for the opening of a building Tim helped to make a reality, so there may be pictures once again from the kingdom. Good thing I didn’t get rid of all my abayas ;-).
