This Saudi woman is the owner of a tour company that caters to expats wanting to see more of Saudi Arabia. We had gone with her two years ago to a camel beauty pageant and were hoping to take another trip last month to the rose festival in Ta’if, but had to cancel at the last moment. We finally managed to get together with her, and she generously gave us a refund on our deposit, although we weren’t able to get the airfare back from Saudia.

There don’t seem to be many businesses owned or operated by women here, so I really must applaud her daring in this very male-dominated society.
