Camel feed?

Parked for miles along the highway were hundreds of trucks carrying hay and what looked like feed. It was on the outskirts of town, near the camel souk, so perhaps it was all to be sold to camel owners and herders. If so, that was a lot of food for them!

Patti linked me to an interesting article about how the Saudis are buying up farmland in the American Southwest so they can export things like hay back home and save water here http://www.cnbc.com/2016/01/15/saudi-arabia-buying-up-farmland-in-us-southwest.html\

Many hungry camels!

That is a lot of hay, but I bet they go through a lot of it very quickly too. When I had horses, I would buy a truck load like this which ideally would feed them for about a year. That was for 5 Arabians that were not that big. Excellent shot. ~V~

Great image of something one wouldn't see in the States! (if indeed it is camel feed)

I can't help wondering how far it had to come from where it was grown
