Master at his craft

I had to see the surgeon, Dr. Ghaleb Al Ameer (previous picture), today, as I do every week, for a checkup on the broken toe and to have a new cast put on. I don’t know this man’s name, but he’s Jordanian and a real artist at fashioning casts. Ghaleb says the toe is coming along nicely but that he won’t be removing the wire he inserted into it (just visible in this picture) for six to eight weeks (the thought of which already panics me!), although he has removed most of the 12 sutures. So looks like I’ll be not too mobile for some time to come. I guess that means even more architectural pictures shot from the car ;-).

Topping it off, one of a number of images posted earlier today:

I have never seen a cast for a broken toe. Are you going to have a cast signing party ? I am glad you have your photography to focus your attention. Thanks for keeping us updated.

Sorry to hear that it will take longer than originally expected, but I'm glad to hear there's progress.......

Hang in there Helen. This will pass in time. Does look like you are getting excellent care and I like how you use every opportunity to capture and image. I have never thought about taking a camera to a doctors appointment. Cool idea.

Best not to think of the wire in the toe! Good news is that he is happy with the way things are progressing.

A real block to carry around. Architecture is OK. You made some great images so let them come.

Ouch - a picture that signifies the essence of "making lemonade from lemons".
