This week the 4th Summit of the Arab and South American Countries took place in Riyadh at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Center, adjacent to the Ritz Carlton, where the delegates were staying.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many flags in Riyadh, on every major road and overpass as well at the conference center and hotel. They also tried to spruce up the city by putting plastic tubs of flowers on the roadsides.
This is the overpass that leads to the Diplomatic Quarter. The only other time I’ve seen flags on it was Saudi National Day, and I could never get a capture of them from the car (just hard to do plus the wind was never blowing very much).
