Sqala du Port

We met up with our tour guide, and although drivers aren’t supposed to accompany tours, Rostom came along in order to wheel Tim around in the wheelchair the hotel let us use. We first all headed for the fishing port, which in the morning is a beehive of activity, with fishing boats returning with their catches and locals there to do their shopping. Interestingly enough, I didn’t see many foreign tourists.

This is the Sqala (sea bastion) du Port, built to protect the town in the 18th century.

Orange juice at the port, posted earlier:

An excellent capture with the vivid blue boats in the sunlight. The fortifications and coastline make this a terrific image. Voted

A very sturdy tower, nicely contrasted with all those boats packed in; they must certainly sell a lot of blue paint in Morocco! V
