The ostensible purpose of riding a camel out to the dunes and sitting there for two hours was to watch the sun set, but quite frankly I didn’t think it was very impressive and much more enjoyed the views of the sand surrounding us. Our camel handler, however, had other ideas and wanted to be sure I had a photo of the sun setting, so he went through a lot of gyrations on the ground to get this for me. Maybe he’s in the wrong profession! The silhouette is me, but hard to tell since I was totally wrapped up in a Berber scarf because of the sandstorm we encountered up there.
